Santa Maria del Castello is an ancient locality situated in the hills of Vico Equense, on the Sorrento Peninsula, about 700 meters above sea level. This village, surrounded by nature, enjoys a privileged position, acting as a sort of enchanting natural terrace between the gulfs of Naples and Salerno. In Santa Maria del Castello, among the apple trees, a spring emerges, where, in ancient times, our ancestors would go to bathe; they called it “l’acqua do mil,” the water of the apple tree. It is in honor of this spring that, in 2005, the agritourism La Sorgente del Melo was born.
